About Us

Costas graduated from UCL with a degree in Economics and trained with a City firm of Accountants. In 2010, he joined Balance Books as a manager.  As a result of his extensive knowledge and commitment, he was appointed a Director in 2012.

Costas oversees the day to day running of business operations, reviews all Management Accounts prepared by the team and ensures that any important issues are highlighted to clients. Costas is directly involved with setting up clients’ accounting systems and along with the help of the team, suggests and implements changes as technology and clients’ businesses change. Costas is our Group’s VAT specialist, provides VAT advice on complex VAT matters and oversees all HMRC VAT Inspections on behalf of clients.

Having completed a degree in Business Management, and particularly liking the accounting courses, Annie wanted to put her theoretical knowledge into practice and joined the team in 2012.

Annie is fully AAT qualified and has particular experience in accounting for UK branches and subsidiaries of international organisations.

Joanne joined the company in 2007 as an Admin Assistant but it quickly became apparent that her superior numeracy skills could be put to better use as an accountant.

Having worked in the profession for over 10 years, Joanne is qualified by experience. Joanne moved to Wales in 2015, a change which expedited our company’s switch from desktop to cloud-based accounting systems.

Peter joined the company in 2015. He has a degree in Biology and worked as an aquarist for a few years before deciding that he needed a new challenge that used his mathematical mind. Peter has completed the AAT Stage 3 courses and exams.

Particularly skilled in explaining accounting principles in a simple way, Peter handles a lot of our accounting package training sessions and supports clients that want to handle their own bookkeeping.
